EN 54 Compliance

EN 54 is the harmonised standard relating to fire detection and fire alarm systems. It’s an extensive standard with around 30 different sections making up over 200 pages of detailed technical and testing quality standards.

Each section relates to a particular product function, and not all sections will be relevant to every product range – for example, due to the high prevalence of visible dust particles on construction sites WES+ does not include an optical beam smoke detector and so EN 54 part 12 is not relevant.

However, each individual unit in any radio-based system should be properly tested and verified against the standards in more than one part of EN 54.

Our products have been independently tested and certified in accordance with the following sections:

Base Station

  • EN54-18:2005 – Fire detection and fire alarm systems – Part 18: Input/output devices
  • EN54-25:2008 Incorporating corrigenda September 2010 and March 2012 – Fire detection and fire alarm systems – Part 25: Components using radio links.
