Barratt London’s riverside regeneration scheme in Fulham has become the latest residential construction project to specify the WES+ wireless fire alarm system. WES+ is Europe’s only fully compliant EN 54 wireless fire alarm system and now provides Barratt London with around the clock coverage across this large residential development on the side of the River Thames.
Comprising 30 automatic smoke and heat detection units and five manual call points, plus GSM base station, the WES+ system provides a complete grid network of coverage across the 8.25 acre site. The smoke and heat detectors act as an early warning of a fire event during the working day and also ensure that the site remains protected out of hours. Personnel working on site can also activate any of the manual call points within the WES+ network. The base station also provides extensive system reporting and configuration functionality. For example, when an alarm is activated, the base station allows personnel at Barratt London to quickly identify which unit has been triggered. Other features include the ability to trigger a system-wide silent test, minimising on-site disruption.
Both the call points and base station have a minimum three-year battery life in normal use, keeping replacement costs and waste to a minimum. More developers are choosing WES+ to ensure their developments comply with latest legislation and site best practice.
