Our Sectors

Our Sectors

Since being launched in 2009 to meet the specific needs of the UK construction industry, the WES range has evolved and is now widely used in a diverse range of market sectors around the world.

Construction

WES systems are equally suited to small residential developments, commercial new build and refurbishments, or massive complex infrastructure projects. Typical sectors include Education, Healthcare, Retail, Office, Government/Public, Residential and High Rise Multi Occupancy (HRMO) developments. View our Case Studies to find out more.

Industrial

The wireless technology used in the WES system make it ideally suited to large complex sites such as power and utilities, manufacturing and recycling facilities. The flexibility of the system means specific areas of e.g. high risk or limited/no human access, can be accommodated easily.

Property

In addition to construction/refurbishment projects, the WES system is increasingly being selected as the ideal temporary fire solution for vacant/void properties that are unoccupied, or to provide a temporary enhanced level of protection in buildings where the existing system is no longer adequate.

"WES+ sets the highest fire safety standard in the industry... there is no comparable system available in Europe",
Cristian Manocchio, Project Manager, Zublin, Germany
"Because it is a wireless system we found it very easy to install and EN 54 compliance means that we have a system in place that provides Max Bögl Group with the highest levels of fire safety in Europe.",
Ion Theuerkauf, Project Manager, Max Bögl Group, Germany
"The best and most cost-effective system on the market today without a doubt. The ease of installation and simple testing facility gives you piece of mind enabling health and safety requirements to be met",
Ben Buttarazzi, Health and Safety Manager, Kier
"Following extensive research we identified WES+ as a system that would provide us with a step-change in usability by the fact it is wireless.",
David Ridge, Sites Services Manager, Galliard Home
"Morgan Sindall Construction specified WES+ to meet the challenge of providing a robust, cost effective and EN 54 compliant wireless fire alarm system on this project.",
Dan August, Morgan Sindall
"We needed a wireless fire alarm system that was compliant with latest legislation, including the relevant sections of EN 54, used category 1 technology and was practical to use. WES+ was clearly in a league of its own... the best temporary fire alarm system in the market",
Tom Cavender, Quantity Surveyor, Newbury Construction
"The WES+ fire alarm system has given us peace of mind during the construction phases, allowing us to protect workers and nearby buildings from the danger of ‑fire.",
Ion Theuerkauf, Project Manager, Max Bögl Group, Germany
WES3 Base Station
The WES fire alarm system Base Station delivers extensive system reporting and configuration functionality for the fire alarm system across your construction site.
It’s wireless and battery powered, so there’s no need for an inflexible fixed, wired control panel – the Base Station has all the reporting functionality you need combined with the mobility and reusability of the rest of the WES product range.
  • includes programming functions, so you can edit site name and SMS numbers directly from your Base Station.
  • System Log records activations and warnings, so you can monitor activity and history across your whole WES system
  • GSM version available, enabling up to 6 users to receive configurable SMS notifications of alarm, tamper or system faults.
  • Access code protection of all system settings and alarm reset for maximum accountability
  • Unit numbering, enabling easy identification of activated units directly from the base station
  • Recent events logged in memory for Health and Safety audit procedures
  • 3-year Battery life, tested under normal usage conditions, reducing lifetime costs and need for constant replacement.
Fire Alarm Call Point
The Fire Alarm Call Point from WES+ is the primary alert unit in the WES+ wireless emergency system range.
The unit incorporates fire alarm sounder, optional strobe alert, and a manual call point for activating the alarm.
Affix units around the site in accordance with your fire plan and they will create a completely secure mesh network, forming a site-wide alarm that can be manually triggered from any call point.
  • Integrated siren and manual call point
  • Optional built-in strobe for high visibility
  • Battery life tested to 3+ years, reducing lifetime costs and need for constant replacement and improving compliance with waste regulations
  • Add, remove and clone units in a few button presses
  • LED fault warning and troubleshooting system
  • Unit numbering to aid pinpointing of triggering unit in the event of an alarm
  • Clear visual identification of activated unit
  • Initiate a silent system test to minimise site disruption
  • Dual Tamper alerts to ensure maximum system integrity
  • Transit mode to allow safe removal and storage without any risk of activation
  • IP rating: IP55C

  • Transit mode to allow safe removal and storage without any risk of activation
The WES REACT call point features a Medical Alert features which can be raised from any Call point on site. For more information on all features of WES REACT watch the WES REACT Video.
WES3 Detectors
Protect your site round the clock by adding automatic detection units to your WES fire safety solution. These battery powered detectors are easy to install, straightforward to use and can be operational within minutes.
We can supply smoke detectors, heat detectors and dust-resilient smoke detectors.
  • Detection units are silent and connect directly to the WES system to activate the fire alarm system across the site in the event of fire.
  • Minimum 3 years’ battery life, externally tested for normal usage conditions, reducing lifetime cost
  • Activated unit flashes red LED for 30 minutes after activation to enable easy identification
  • Ceiling mounted and suitable for internal use
  • Heat, smoke and dust resistant detector heads available
All units both send and receive radio signals, for maximum robustness of network coverage. Since detection units are incorporated into your WES network, they will they act as an early warning of fire risk to all site staff during the working day and they’ll also make sure that the site remains protected out of hours.
If you add a GSM base station, you can even make sure that security and monitoring personnel receive a text alert if the fire alarm is automatically triggered.
WES3 Interface
The WES fire alarm Interface lets you connect your WES temporary fire alarm to other systems, such as turnstiles, so that you can ensure your emergency systems are working together as efficiently as possible to protect your site.
  • Input: Connect so that the WES fire alarm system can be triggered to sound the alarm by an external system
  • Output: Connect so that the WES system going into alarm triggers an action on the part of an external system, eg auto dialler or access control
Note that the Interface cannot be connected directly to the mains current, and you will need a suitably qualified person to wire together the units.
WES3 Link Unit
The Radio Repeater Link unit is the simple, cost-effective way to extend the range of your WES temporary fire alarm system on very large-scale sites.
Simply connect to your existing WES units, set up on site and the unit will act as a relay to link geographically separated sections of the site together.
  • 3-year battery life, tested under normal operating conditions, reducing lifetime costs and need for constant replacement.
  • Anti-tamper controls to ensure system integrity and compliance
  • Transit mode to allow safe removal & storage without risk of activation
Do I need a link?
Most likely, you’ll never need a radio repeater unit for your WES system – each unit has excellent wireless range already. However, if you do receive a low signal warning, for example if a far-off fire point becomes more obscured as a build progresses and starts to lose signal, you can add a Link unit to boost the signal and make sure your fire alarm system continues to work optimally.
